\nIt is possible to calculate the amount of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that individual or group activities produce. This measure is called the carbon footprint. For instance, approximately one kg of carbon is added to our personal carbon footprint when we drive a car for a distance of about 6km or when we operate a computer for 32 hours. The more the emission of carbon, the more the environment gets polluted. Today there is greater awareness about the need to reduce our carbon footprint and thereby protect the environment. Energy conservation is one of the methods to reduce damage to the environment.<\/p>\n
